Chelsea L. Gast -- granddaughter of Frank and Yvonne Krukow, is a past competitor of Iowa High School Rodeo.  Chelsea qualified as one of the top 4 in the State of Iowa, and competed at the 2006 National Finals High School Rodeo, the world's largest rodeo.  Chelsea also qualified and competed in the 2005 & 2004 National Finals High School Rodeos as well.  Chelsea's horse, "Dakota", is an outstanding gray gelding that is a half brother to Krukow Quarter Horses reference sire Leo Thunder Beat ("Thunder").  These two rope, barrel and pole bending horse were sire by Chief Blue Duck, and are descendents of "Sir Beat" and "Otoe".  Chief Blue Duck was a producer of many top rope, barrel and pole bending horses, and was owned by the Leer Ranch Quarter Horses until his death.
